Two years ago several active students from my filmschool organized a film festival in Sievierodonetsk, a small city in the Luhansk Oblast of Ukraine, in order to create cultural and creative environment for citizens interested in modern ukrainian cinema and show them shorts made by our young filmmakers. Festival was called "Lutiy" which is "February" in ukrainian, since it took place in february 2015.
These students asked me to create a festival promo.
Based on the name it was decided to use frost and knitting motives as a general concept. To emphasis the location which is not too rich in recognizable architecture, silhouettes of dormitory suburbs were used.
Font was hand drawn and vectorized in Illustrator.
Graphic elements animation was made frame-by-frame in Photoshop. Whole video was composed and animated in After Effects.
